Wake To Be Inspired: 5 Things To “Kung Pow” Your Mornings

There's nothing quite like starting the day with the song of Folger's coffee running in your mind and running to a fresh cup of coffee and a few minutes of peace and quiet. But for many of us, the morning is a rushed, hectic affair that can run you out the door with wet hair and non-slick back edges. If you're looking for ways to streamline your morning routine, here are a few hacks that can help.

1. Get your game strategy set the night before.

One of the best ways to make mornings less stressful is to plan the night before. Lay out your clothes, pack your bag, and make sure you have everything you need for the day. With all the fancy coffee makers out on the market now, you can set the timer for your coffee to brew and pour it directly into your cup. Anything you need to leave with, you can sit right at the door, packed and ready to go. This way, you can avoid the last-minute scramble in the morning.

2. Set the alarm for an earlier rise and shine.

Another helpful tip is to set your alarm clock a few minutes earlier than you need to get up. This way, you can take your time and start the day at a leisurely pace. Doing some nice body stretches while you lay in bed is an excellent way to get the blood flowing and the muscles ready to support your body for the day.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast to fuel your body and mind for the day ahead.

I love a big veggie omelet, hashbrowns, and pancakes for breakfast! But!!!! I only eat that on lazy Sunday mornings or at good hotel stays. Having a heavy breakfast can slow you down before you get started. Select items that will fuel you and get you off energetically for the day. Nothing is worse than wanting to nap as soon as you wake up.

4. Create a relaxing morning ritual that you can look forward to

A creative routine you can perform daily without thinking is an idea for setting the tone for the day. Whether reading a few pages of a book, taking a few minutes to jot down your thoughts in your journal, or just savoring a cup of coffee while gazing out the window in silence, find something that helps you ease into the day. With some planning and calming rituals, mornings can be much less stressful.

5. Decide what your top task will be for the day.

While you are in a calm state of mind and feeling relaxed, this is a beautiful time to set yourself up for a fantastic day. If you could complete three tasks for the day, what would they be? How would you feel if they got done? Now my go-getter, let's get it started!
